The wines of Mariposa represent the harmony of man, mountain and vineyard that is the spirit of the Andes. Our Cabernet Sauvignon was grown in vineyards in the Tupungato Valley and Lujan de Cuyo region of the state of Mendoza, Argentina. Located on the high plateaus of the Andes, the rocky, shallow soils in these heritage vineyards produce small crops of intense fruit. High altitude and extreme temperatures during the growing season combine to create a deeply colored wine full of chocolate and ripe plum flavors. Impressive color and concentration are fully complemented by balanced, full tannins and spice imparted by ten months aging in small French and American oak barrels. Alc. 13.5% by volume.
