Hartley Ostini Hitching Post Pinot Noir, Highliner, Santa Barbara County, 2014

Highliner is the best fisherman in the fleet, and this name honors the great men of the SE Alaska Salmon fishery, alongside whom Gray Hartley fished for 28 years. Now (and since 1979) Gray makes wine with Frank Ostini, a local chef, and they have created this to be one of the best of their fleet of Pinot Noirs. This wine is a barrel selection of two maritime-cooled valleys north of Santa Barbara, combining the forward fruit from east of Santa Maria, with the earth and structure of grapes from west of Buellton. Known for handcrafted, food friendly, Soulful Pinots, year in, year out, you can learn more about Hitching Post Wines at www.HPwines.com, and visit Gray and Frank in Buellton, CA. Alcohol 13.8% by volume.
